Tim,
No, nothing but what vista came with (I live high risk).
I turned off all the security features and downloaded psdr again, no joy.

Then something else is preventing PowerSDR work working correctly.

Are you running virus scanners, malware detectors, registry protectors or
other things that might prevent PowerSDR from creating it's default
database?

I am fishing here.

Only one account, and I am the administrator...

I suspect that your user ID does not have sufficient rights to run the
program.

PowerSDR creates files in the C\Program Files\FlexRadio Systems\... folder.
If you are not seeing those files in the PowerSDR folder, then something is
preventing those files from being written. This is usually a result of a
user right permissions problem.

Make sure your user account is in the administrator's security group.

You could also have some sort of software (virus protection, etc) that is
preventing programs from writing files in the C\Program Files\FlexRadio
Systems\... folder.

The software works on Vista x86. The problem is localized with your Windows
configuration. We just have to figure out what it is.

Vista 32.
I called flex support, they told me to go into program files, flex radio
systems power sdr, and remove database.xml.
When I went there, no database.xml file....

I then removed the firewire driver, same results, power sdr starts to open
then goes away, no error message.

I tried an older version of powersdr, same thing.

This is not giving me the warm fuzzy feeling about my flex purchase...
