John, I was pondering sending out a response similar to yours last night 
(except I would not have used the word "pejorative"...had to look that one 
up).
My experience is similar to yours and I use a cheap dual core 1.8 GHz Compaq 
using Vista 32 usually doing Email and surfing with AV software 
simultaneously. The only anomaly I have noticed is that a very occasional 
burp has disappeared with all of the recent Flex changes. It really does 
keep getting better.
