[Flexradio] SDR1000 Horizontal line on screen etc--Thanks

Tim,
thanks for the help.
I have incresed the VAC buffers to max, (using 4.04) and 20ms/int.
Yhe blue lines almost look like a signal is getting thru above the pasband.
They are virtually continous as the waterfall progresses downwards, so the
right hand side of the waterfall
is virtually all blue, whereas with 1.8.0 it is black.
CPU is running between 13 to 16% utilisation on all versions.

The tx output still shows occasional distorted waveform on tx, which I can
hear on the Ten tec, but it is pure on 1.8.0

Regards
Ross

It is probably due to the threading change between 1.8.0 and 1.10.x
Since both threads are active, it takes a more CPU resources. I presume
you are using VAC 4.x? You may have to increase the VAC driver buffers
(ms/int) values to a larger number and also increase the VAC buffers in
PowerSDR.

Thanks Tim,
that fixed the horiz line problem,
I had to go to min buffers and ASIO larger.

But sorry for the queries but I notice another difference between 1.10.2
and 1.8.0.
Using MixW for digital modes on 1.10.2 and 1.9.1, just sending a TX in
either Olivia and/or PSK signal, not CQ or anything, I can see
occasional "spuries" on the panadaptor screen. Listening to the signal
on my Ten Tec Orion II I can hear occasional "pops" which coincide with
the distortion of the waveform on the SDR panadaptor. This occurs on
Olivia and PSK, I didn't try other modes.

I checked 1.8.0 and the transmitted signal on the panadaptor is pure, no
distortion and a pure tone listening on the Ten Tec.

I used a new database for 1.10.2, on 1.9,1 I imported from 1.8.0

Sorry to be a nusance.
Regards
Ross

It is in the FA-66 control panel located in the Windows Control Panel.
Refer to the FA-66 Quick Start Guide
http://kb.flex-radio.com/article.aspx?id=10251

Did you use a new database with 1.10.2 or did you import an older one?

Tim,
Thanks for your comments, but yes I will be naive, where do I find the
settings to adjust the asio settings ?.

One thing I note , on 1.10.2 I am getting what sounds like
"motor-boating" in the audio, a fast pusling, and the horizontal line,
the line by the way does not keep pace with the audio pulsing.
I rechecked 1.8.0 and 1.9.1, they both seem clean, good audio and no
horiz line effect.

I am using 32 bit Vista on an Intel core2 duo 2.4ghz.
Sound card is the FA-66
